Hosting a summer cookout is a great way to reconnect with friends, family, and neighbors. Unfortunately, time can pass by too quickly, and you might not have a time to finish preparing. Whether you forgot the fruit dish or need to clean the grill, there’s a simple cookout practice for it all. Here are some of the best cookout practices suggested by us here at Plaza Cadillac.
- Hotdogs – Giving your hotdog a quick spiral cut will have it coming out fully straight once cooked. On top of that, there’s mores surface area for toppings, and it will still fit into a bun. Simply skewer a hotdog, hold the knife at an angle, and roll the hotdog away from you. Now there’s no need to worry about uneven cooking or curling.
- Mango – A fruit dish is a necessity to any summer cookout, but peeling and cutting fruit takes time. Fortunately, peeling a mango can be done in just a few minutes. Slice the sides of the mango off, but avoid the center stone. Place the lip of a glass against the edge of the mango and slide it straight down. The glass will slide through the mango, effectively peeling the skin for you.
- Grill – Keeping a grill clean is something many people fail to do…until they absolutely need to use a grill. Fortunately, scrubbing the grill with half an onion face down will remove any leftover food residue, grime, and debris with ease.
