One of the Hottest Features.
Smartphone integration is one of the hottest features in the auto industry right now, with many automobile brands’ signature “infotainment systems” in their vehicle lineup becoming the norm. Two of the biggest names in the mobile phone business, Samsung, and Apple have even released their own in-vehicle software: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Cadillac owners have had access to Apple CarPlay for a few years now, so that’s not news, but Cadillac recently announced plans to take their Apple Integration Technology a step further.
Cadillac owners with Apple CarPlay and the myCadillac app on their iPhone will now be able to sync the myCadillac app to their Apple Watch. This provides drivers with quick access to features like Remote start and stop, the ability to locate their vehicle, locking and unlocking their doors, activating or deactivating the horn and lights, and even GPS walking directions to their vehicle.
Cadillac reports that the use of the myCadillac app has increased by 50 percent in 2017, and so the brand sought to make the app more functional and accessible for more mobile device users.
This new Apple integration technology will be available for anyone with an Apple Watch running OS 3. The myCadillac app and Apple CarPlay are both offered on Cadillac’s full vehicle lineup, a lineup that can be found here at Plaza Cadillac.
