While little is known about the 2018 Cadillac XT4 design, the brand recently released some information about this much-anticipated crossover design. As the name implies, the XT4 is smaller than the current XT5, which means the XT4 is great for those who want an SUV but still want something that’s compact and easy to drive in tight spaces.
According to Car and Driver, the XT4 will most likely share a chassis design with models like the 2018 Equinox and Terrain. The new design is predicted to be lightweight thanks to some innovative engineering moves, and the front-drive-based design is surprisingly agile on tricky terrain. There’s also a pentagonal mesh grille, sharp lines, and LED lighting, among other things.
“[T]he XT4 is still a prototype,” write the editors at Car and Driver. “In mid-2018, it will be ready to plunge into the ultra-hot-selling compact-luxury-crossover market. With this exciting new design, Cadillac will provide a whole new car to a whole new demographic of buyers.”
While nothing is certain, it’s likely that the XT4 will come with a nine-speed automatic transmission to follow suit with other similar models, and the all-wheel drive will be optional. Plus, with a low-mounted intercooler, the performance is only bound to increase. We at Plaza Cadillac can’t wait to see the XT4 hit the market officially.
