Are you craving some sun, waves, and hot sand between your toes? Then you need to pack up the car and head out on our very own Florida beach road trip. Travel+Leisure has laid out the perfect trip for you, complete with where to eat and stay.
You start your trip to Jacksonville and make your way to St. Augustine, stopping to see Castillo de San Marcos. On day two, you make your way from St. Augustine to Palm Beach, making sure to stop and see Daytona Beach and Kennedy Space Center.
After staying in Palm Beach overnight, you start day three by shopping in the Palm Beach area, then hit the road for Miami Beach. You’ll stop at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum. On day four, you’ll leave Miami Beach and head toward Islamorada, stopping at the History of Diving Museum and going out on a boating excursion.
On day five, you’ll make your way down to Key West, but not until you’ve fed the tarpon at Robbie’s of Islamorada. But you’ll make it to Key West in time for the sunset—and really, there’s no place more beautiful to see the sunset than Key West.
