It’s no secret that Cadillac is working on an all-new vehicle to add to its already impressive lineup – the Cadillac XT6 luxury SUV. There hasn’t been much word on what, exactly, this new three-row SUV will entail though – until now. A preview of the Cadillac XT6 was recently caught on film as the luxury SUV took to the road for testing.
Based on the spy photos caught during the XT6 model’s excursion out on the road, many experts have been speculating that it is potentially based on the CT6 sedan’s lightweight architecture. It also looks like the engine will have a north-south configuration and that the SUV will have rear-wheel drive. Also, many expect the XT6 to offer the brand’s new twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 engine, due to the SUV’s raised hood area, which indicates a tall engine.
While none of these speculations have been confirmed by Cadillac just yet, it’s hard to not get excited by its premium silhouette and sleek roofline. It will fit into the mid-sized SUV segment, which means it will take on competitors like the Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, and the new Lexus RX L.
This vehicle is expected to debut as early as the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, which means sales would start by mid-2019, making it a 2020 model.
Here at Plaza Cadillac, we can’t wait to learn more about this upcoming addition to the Cadillac lineup.
