Cadillac has been slowly transitioning towards becoming a more modern luxury brand, and with this transition comes some big changes. One of the biggest changes is the fact that this is the Cadillac ATS Sedan’s final year.
It will no longer be on sale after 2018, though the ATS Coupe will still remain in Cadillac’s lineup.
This change doesn’t mean that Cadillac’s spot in the compact car segment is going to disappear. Instead, the American carmaker will add a new CT5 sedan to its segment to replace both the compact ATS Sedan and the mid-sized CTS.
Eventually, Cadillac’s lineup will have three sedans: a small compact sedan that will likely be called the CT4, the CT5, and then the full-size CT6, which is currently the brand’s flagship. Each of these will feature rear-wheel drive, giving consumers a fun-to-drive alternative across their respective segments.
Along with these new sedans, the carmaker will be adding the newly revealed XT4 compact crossover to its lineup. It also recently announced that it is working on a full-size three-row SUV called the XT6, which will sit between the XT5 and the Escalade. This means that the brand’s lineup could easily see four new vehicles in the near future – and we here at Plaza Cadillac simply can’t wait for the arrival of these vehicles.
