Cadillac released the first official sketch of the new “compact luxury sport sedan” that is due out in 2013. “The car we codenamed ATS is being developed to be a driver’s car on an all-new Cadillac-specific RWD-AWD architecture,” said General Motors North America President Mark Reuss.
The ATS is expected to put Cadillac in a similar line up structure as BMW. With the ATS being the equivalent of the 3 series and the CTS to the 5 series. With that in mind, we expect the ATS will look, feel, and drive very much like a CTS, with maybe a little more of a “sporty” feel to it. The smaller size will give the Cadillac ATS exceptional manueverability and quickness, which is exactly what GM needs to be building. The ATS is expected to fill the void of a sporty, nimble sedan that Cadillac currently doesn’t offer.
