It’s that time of the year again, folks! Summer is upon us. Do you know what that means? It means it is the time of the year when most people go on road trips! So we would like to take a second of your time and remind you of a few things you can do next time you’re on a road trip and having a hard time staying awake.
1) Try setting a lower temperature in the car. When your car is nice and warm and cozy, you’re much more likely to fall asleep. It may not be pleasant, but try turning on the A/C.
2) Eat Slow. If you have a snack that comes in small pieces, such as chips or trail mix, try eating it one piece at a time. You may be used to grabbing a handful of chips and stuffing them in your mouth (Guilty!), but eating slow will keep you active, and the more active you are, the easier it will be to stay awake.
3) Sing along with the music, or have a nice long conversation with someone else in the car. Much like the previous tip, it’s important to keep your mind active. Often times singing or just talking will really help keep you awake. And if you’re a passenger on a road trip, don’t think you have a free pass to sleep just because you’re not driving. Talk with the driver!
Now that may only be a few tips, but in my experience, these tips have really been a life-saver. Let us know how these work for you by leaving a comment! And if you’re looking for the ultimate road trip vehicle, stop by Plaza Cadillac in Leesburg, Florida and check out the Cadillac SRX.
