While some might think of Cadillac as a brand with more style than power, those people probably haven’t spent a lot of time with the Cadillac CTS-V.R., which has not only performed well as a race car, but even won championships. Cadillac will soon be upgrading its race car lineup, too, putting the CTS-V.R. in the rearview mirror for the new ATS-V.R.
The new one has been designed by Pratt & Miller and is a homogelated GT3-spec race car, for those of you who are really into racing. For those of you who aren’t, check out this picture captured by a spy satellite of the ATS-V.R somewhere in Chicago. “It’s covered in zebra paint, is wide as hell, has a monster rear diffuser and also features two doors,” says GM Authority of the new Cadillac racer.
It will also feature a different engine from its predecessor—a twin-turbo V6 engine with plenty of pop to keep it competing with the other world-class vehicles on the racetrack. The new ATS-V.R. should show up in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, so keep your eyes peeled. Until then, keep checking back with us here at Plaza Cadillac for more news and updates.
