We at Plaza Cadillac are excited for Cadillac’s new ATS-V Coupe and sedan to go on sale next spring, but we’re also stoked to see a racing version of the production models make its debut. The all-new Cadillac ATS-V.R race car opens a world of opportunities for the Cadillac racing team.
The vehicle is built to FIA GTS3 specifications, which means it qualifies the Caddy to race in motorsport series around the world in the GT3 class.
“This car sounds wicked and screams like it’s ripping holes in the air. I love it,” said Andy Pilgrim, driver for Cadillac Racing. “We have paddle gear shifters for the first time, and I’m enjoying the new tools. The engine torque is remarkable, as always, pulling strongly out of the corners.”
The automaker’s first compact performance model means business, entering the racing world with a performance-tuned 3.6-liter V6 engine providing up to 600 horsepower and a 49% front to 51% rear weight distribution.
With three consecutive years of Pirelli World Challenge Manufacturer Championship wins, Cadillac Racing is eager to continue that success during the 2015 season as it enters new racing territory with the ATS-V.R.
