Got $250,000? If not, no worries. You’ve got time to start saving now. You won’t need the cash until 2029, anyway. That’s when Cadillac plans to produce its quarter-million dollar ultra-luxury flagship car. That’s a long time to wait but we here Plaza Cadillac can’t wait to see what it’ll look like!
This is the gospel according to Johann De Nysschen, president of Cadillac. He said at the recent Los Angeles Auto Show, “It is too early today for a $250,000 Cadillac…Fifteen years from now, it won’t be.”
De Nysschen only recently took the helm at Cadillac in August. Over the next six years, GM will invest $2.5 billion in what basically amounts to an overhaul for the Cadillac brand. It’s Nysschen’s job to funnel the funds here or there.
In one avenue, this investment money has gone towards the CT-6. Set to release next year, this is “a new high-end sedan.” Reuters reports that the CT-6 will be “followed by an even larger, more expensive model by 2020.” We can’t wait to see what else results from the Cadillac rebranding mission.
