William Shatner hasn’t captained a spaceship in a long time, but his recent efforts have brought him close.
The actor teamed up with American Wrench, a custom motorcycle company, to build what he calls the “Rivet One.”
Despite having the CGI images of the thing right in front of us, it’s still difficult to describe. It almost looks like a comfortable chair on an aggressive set of wheels. And if you’d love to see Shatner rolling around in the thing—you will, when he captains the Rivet One trike from Chicago to Los Angeles later this year.
Despite its strange exterior, Plaza Cadillac is quite familiar with what it has under the hood—and that’s because the Rivet One will be motivated by a powertrain similar to that of the Cadillac CTS-V.
“It’s a beast with advanced guts,” said Shatner. “It’s powered by an all-aluminum, computer-controlled, supercharged and intercooled V8 engine—producing over 500 HP. Does that sound incredible or what?”
Yes, Captain Kirk. Yes, it does.
