You’ve got your DVD subscriptions. Your book subscriptions. There are even subscriptions to self-care tools like razors. Now, there’s a subscription service to some of the most luxurious cars around.
The all new Cadillac subscription vehicle service, known as BOOK, allows people to pay a monthly fee in exchange for access to premium Cadillac vehicles. The service is targeted towards urban dwellers in cities where car ownership tends to seem like more of a hassle than it’s worth. Parking is difficult and costly, and in cities where one doesn’t need a car every day, it seems illogical to go through the trouble of ownership and maintenance.
With BOOK, people in large cities can avoid all of that. A monthly fee lets subscribers choose from the platinum Cadillac fleet. It’s a flexible program, and that benefit lets members use the vehicle they need at any given time. For instance, if a driver is seeking something fast and fun for a night out, he or she could choose something from the V series. But, when it’s time to switch to a more practical SUV for a family outing, it’s easy to schedule a vehicle swap using the BOOK app. The BOOK delivery person will drop off an Escalade in exchange for the car.
BOOK is currently $1,500 a month, which may seem like a lot. However, there’s no mileage limits with BOOKS, no maintenance and none of the other limitations that come with leasing. With that in mind, Cadillac’s new subscription vehicle service may prove to be a big hit during its first roll out in New York City.
